This hat was inspired by the chapeau à-la-Pamela, the straw hat worn in 1793 by French actress Mademoiselle Lange in the theatrical adaptation of the novel Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded. The hat went on to become an iconic symbol of casual style. With its wide and slightly wavy brim, the Corazón elegantly evokes the beautiful rolling plains near Quito, at the foothills of the Andean volcano from which this hat takes its name.
